Zeng's captivating works invite us into a dialogue with ourselves.
"Mermer," her series of black and white figures, acts as a mirror, reflecting back the anonymity we navigate in the digital age. The divided figures ("M(e)-er" or "M(iddle)-er") symbolize a journey of self-discovery and the yearning for connection. When grouped ("M(eme)-er"), they represent the shared experiences that bind us. "Mermer" whispers its duality in Chinese ("Mo Mo") with quiet contemplation, echoing in English as murmurs ("murmur"). This duality reflects our deep longing to connect with both the inner world of our emotions and the outer world of shared experiences.
